Youth Choir (3rd - 6th) Instructor and Conductor

Rehearse and educate students in proper choir singing technique, music literacy and terminology, and social skills. Prepare students for end of semester and community performances.

Student Teaching Internship – Juneau Douglas High School, Juneau, AK
Orchestra; Beginner, Intermediate and Advance Choir, Music History.

Assist and lead rehearsals of Orchestra and Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Choirs. Select repertoire and prepare students for concerts, auditions, festivals, and other performance opportunities. Develop curriculum and lesson plans for all classes. Promote team work, self directed study, and self assessment.

Implemented a multi-week research project uses feedback forms to improve ensemble musicality and morale.

Assist and lead classes in singing, guitar, violin, recorder, Orff, and notation. Develop lessons and curriculum to help each student grow. Engage students in exciting group music activities that build social skills, broaden understanding of each other and others, and develop important physical and mental skills.

Implemented a multi-week data driven teacher work sample, with 8 core lessons and analysis of formative and summative assessments of students.

Lead after school classes in Chamber Ensemble, beginner Cello/Double Bass, and Music Technology. Mentor students with proper musicianship and technique to achieve regular performance goals. Promote literacy through multiple modes of education.

Teach students valuable musical, social and technical skill via technology in a blended learning classroom. Design Google Classroom activities where students drive the learning goals and curriculum. Projects include Beat Boxing, writing Chamber and Solo Music, presenting Music Technology Tools, and running a mock music technology Expo.
